Dear colleague,
As scheduled, the Orphée reactor in Saclay did stop for the last time today between 2 and 2:30pm. Since more than 38 years, this reactor provides neutron beams to the instruments that you have used. Thanks to you, more than a thousand of publications were issued.
LLB teams will continue to develop their own research subjects using neutron scattering. Their instrumental activities will now be centered on our CRG’s at the ILL, the transfer of PA20 to the PSI near Zürich, the participation to the construction of 6 of the 15 firsts instruments on ESS and our project SONATE of a new compact neutron source.
