My s/o and I have this TV (he uses it as a computer monitor) that's 48 inches and 4k. We seek out and save ultra-high resolution images from the Hubble for wallpapers, and it just changes between them every couple of minutes. One of our favourite things to do is drop some acid and listen to some good jams (personally Tycho is my favourite for this) while watching these brilliantly colourful images move and swirl around. It's a really incredible experience, and I've gotten some insane painting ideas from the images my lsd-trippy brain sees when I look at specific nebula and whatnot. I get sad when I come across images I want to add to the gallery that just simply don't exist in the resolution we need. There's been a few, recently, that are simply astonishing (like this one), full of colour or really fantastic light/dark balance. I can't wait until 2024 when we start getting ridiculously high-res images. :D Edit: For the record, we also threw these images on the Vive VR and scaled them up/pushed them out a great distance so they were ENORMOUS, and jesus fuck it was like you were floating in space looking right at the Horsehead nebula, or the Pillars, etc. You can warp the images in several different ways, from making a bubble around you, to shaping it into a half-sphere (like a super curved contact lens), giving the image a slight curve, etc. It's fucking insane.
